NESSSS Hersham Centre 

NESSSS at Hersham provides an education for KS4 students who are no longer in a mainstream school environment.
 
We offer a variety of educational opportunities and experiences tailored in order to meet the student’s individual needs and prepare them for life after school.
Road to Success
Students from Years 7 to 11 are offered a range of vocational courses including Hair and Beauty and Construction which are not available in mainstream schools. The courses run in Morden, Roehampton and Shepperton.
MIT
The training provider in West Byfleet offers a 2 year Engineering and Construction to Year 10 and 11 students. This is an extremely popular choice.
STEPS
The Steps programme provides an alternative approach to education for Years 10 and 11 students who are not settled in a school environment. The programme runs in Woking and offers accredited subjects and life skill classes with a significant amount of informal learning.
Brooklands College
The college in Weybridge offers 2 year vocational programmes for Years 10 and 11. Courses include Mechanics, Engineering and Hairdressing. Students do need to have a desire to achieve.
Other projects offered
NESSSS also offers a number of short educational visits including Keep out Prison trips through the Crime and Diversion Scheme that deliver workshops in the prisons for young people. Coldingley and Send prison are part of the project and delivers a day’s intervention to young people.
The project explains how crime became a factor in their lives and the effects it has on everyone around them. The Yes Project helps students to re-engage in school and look at their future whilst having an amazing 5 days working with the Surrey Fire fighters and learning some valuable lifesaving skills.
